Parent Cooperative
As an independent, non-profit parent cooperative, River Park Nursery School recognizes that tuition can be a hefty part of the family budget. By sharing those aspects of running the school outside of the classroom with the parent body, River Park keeps operating expenses to a minimum and tuition costs moderate.
River Park asks for an annual commitment of 35 hours per family (25 hours for single parents). Parents can share their talents, skills and enthusiasm in a range of ways - helping with school activities and field trips outside the classroom, maintaining the facilities, serving as an officer on the Parent Board of Directors or on a committee, coordinating fund raising events, serving as lunch parent and much more.
Working together on school projects helps consolidate a common culture among parents and reaffirms to the children that their school is important to the grownups.
